1.2 Launch of the "Singapore Students Entering China Enterprises" program
To promote the integration of China enterprises into the local society and in view of the current
Singapore employment situation and changes in policies due to the pandemic, CEA Singapore
officially launched the "Singapore Students Entering China Enterprises" program to help China
enterprises build their team of talents. The program was aimed at building collaboration platforms
between China enterprises based in Singapore and the local Singaporean educational institutions.
CEA hoped to enhance Singaporean students' understanding of China enterprises, while helping
the enterprises discover and nurture local talents and contribute to the exchange and unity between
the people of both countries, through internships, visits to the enterprises, presentations and
roadshows, online lectures and so on.
On June 1, 2021, CEA Singapore’s Executive Vice President Ms. Hu Fang hosted the opening
ceremony of the "Singapore Students Entering China Enterprises" cum Industrial and Commercial
Bank of China (ICBC) Singapore Branch's "ICBC Star Online Orientation". Representatives from
MAS, National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and 14 other
China enterprises attended the event and gave speeches. On September 7, 2021, China Mobile
International (Asia Pacific) held an online lecture for Hwa Chong Institution, themed "New normal,
new opportunities: How China and Singapore digital transitions are affecting the development of
Southeast Asia economy". On September 8, 2021, China Construction (South Pacific) (CCSP) held a
virtual lecture themed "Use of PPVC (Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction) technology
in projects" cum an exchange session between CCSP and NTU. On November 10, 2021, MCC
Singapore held a virtual exchange program with NUS and NTU, themed "Construction and Design of
Large-Scaled Amusement Parks".
As of the end of November 2021, the "Singapore Students Entering China Enterprises" program
had attracted some 30 China enterprises, 6 local educational institutions and hundreds of local
students participating in it. Through the dozens of virtual and physical recruitment sessions, cloud
lectures and exchange events, the Chinese enterprises have recruited a total of some 50 local
university students to enter China enterprises for full-time roles or internships.

1.3 Supporting anti-flood rescue operations in China
In July 2020, flood hit many southern areas of China, with disastrous consequences. The
Singapore-China Business Association assembled and transported a batch of anti-flood rescue
resources to the frontline in Jiangxi province. COSCO Shipping immediately mobilized resources
in the region and delivered 50 boats and equipment for rescue efforts, loaded in seven 40-foot
containers speedily to the frontlines, with all shipping fees waived.

1.4 Member enterprises actively fulfil social responsibility
CEA Singapore's member enterprises have made many contributions to society to fulfil their
social responsibility to Singapore. PetroChina International (Singapore) Pte Ltd has participated
actively in events such as scholarship donations to universities, caring for disabled children
and planting trees for a better environment. It has also supported the elderly lunch gala for 15
consecutive years. COSCO Shipping International (Singapore) has donated SGD20,000 every year to
the Keppel Charity Foundation since 2019.
The Bank of China (BOC) Singapore Branch and ICBC Singapore Branch have also organized
hundreds of their employees to participate in the 'Bull Charge' charity run hosted by SGX in
October 2020. BOC Singapore Branch achieved good results by coming in eighth place among the
enterprises.
COSCO Shipping International (Singapore), China Construction Bank (CCB) Singapore Branch,
Bank of Communications Singapore Branch have sponsored the Singapore Chinese Orchestra
multiple times to promote Chinese art and culture. In 2020 and 2021, ICBC Singapore Branch was
the exclusive sponsor to support Singapore's National Chinese Challenge. The event was greatly
supported and affirmed by the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning, the National
Translation Committee and the Speak Mandarin Campaign.
